- TomMighell I just don't buy that Avvo ranks members on anything other than legal ability.

- RKaiser: @SCartierLiebel Loved your post on AVVO! I train my library patrons to ? a site like this for lawyer evaluation.
- kevinokeefe: Re people questioning Avvo, isn't it just another tool, among others, people can use in evaluating lawyers; a friends advise can be worse
- kevinforrester: @kevinokeefe The AVVO fine print disclaims any responsibility for the accuracy of anything; http://bit.ly/r3bW
- Chris_Davis: @MIAMICRIMLAW Avvo and credibility? who cares? Point is, consumers use it. So use it to your advantage.
- carolynelefant: Also, no info is perfect - we can create our own personas at our blogs, on Avvo or Twitter. Let's educate consumers re:what to look for.
- leannahamill @carolynelefant I agree. My avvo profile is a small part of my web presence. I don't get all the negativity about it.
- heathermilligan @LegalTweets attacks on Avvo seem weak and unjustified to me. I do not agree that they lost credibility with their offer. JMHO

As a result of all of this, I asked Avvo's General Counsel some questions, and got some answers. http://mylawlicense.com

I posted a truthful review of a very bad lawyer on AVVO. The lawyer I reviewed has a Bar complaint against him, by me and soon a malpractice suit. Having said that, AVVO printed the review, then removed it.
I think that AVVO is doing a disservice to anyone who wants to read a review before hiring a lawyer.
I find their website not credible, now that I know that there are games being played...
