A list of the 50 best and 50 worst insurance companies, although somewhat outdated, shows that "Hartford" was the worst of the worst, being,(#1) on the worst list, that was followed by Allstate. What disturbs we seniors is "AARP" has done business with 'Hatford" for over twenty years. The best and worst insurance company's lists can be viewed on the iternet and has changed from time to time. However, how many years did "AARP" sleep with and suck up to "Hartfotd?" This list was well researched based on; no pay, complaints, court actions, ,etc. It would behoove all insurance carriers to check out your insurance company frequently. Don't make a mistake like I did when I was really screwed over by my then company; "American Fanily" insurance when my home was burnt to the ground and I made my claim. They only paid about one half of what the cost would be to rebuild the home. I have now a vacant lot and a tent. sincerely, Kirby Allan email; KirbyAllanaz@aol.com or phone; (480) 969-0000 Check out sites; ExoticaAndBeyond.com and MesaAzCorruption.com to see I am a legit and sincere business person.

Thanks for this info.

In your opinion, which are the top 10 best insurance companies for homeowners?

I use to think all insurance companies were alike. After receiving, lets just say, less than adequate handling of my claim with Farmers :( I did some checking around. I have been very satisfied with my current company, COUNTRY Financial. They geninuely seem to care and the company has an excellant claims record.
